My full name is Joseph S. Tapangco, but everyone just calls me Joe. I’m a 21-year-old 5′8″ half asian male. I have brown hair and eyes and have a sanity which may be questionable. I’m currently a freelance filmmaker fresh out of film school and hope to follow my dream into the film industry. It won’t be easy, but the outcome will be rewarding.
HISTORY
I was born in Anchorage, AK along with my two brothers, which we are all a year apart from each other. When I was eight, we moved to Valdez, AK where I consider myself raised. It was a small town, a population reaching up to 4,000. I attending Valdez High School where I received my diploma. In high school, I ran Cross Country Running and Track & Field. I was also the mascot for the cheerleading/basketball teams. Outside of my athletics, I was part of the Nation Honor Society and the Student Council. My senior year, I ran and won the title of Student Body President. Out of a class of seventy-two students, I ranked thirteenth when I graduated as part of the Class of 2006..
A week after graduating, I flew to Washington DC where I served my month long term as a paid intern for Sen. Ted Stevens. For a month, I filed addresses in the database and went on tours to important places. We went to museums, beaches, and parks and had a lot of fun.
After finishing my month long internship on Capitol Hill, I returned back to Alaska just in time for the Forth of July. My visit was short though for a week later, I once again left Alaska. My next stop was Arizona where I would attend Collins College (A School of Design and Technology). For sixty weeks, I slaved away maintaining straight “A”s throughout my Associate Program. On October 19, 2007, I received my Associate Degree in Media Arts and was also honored Salutatorian for that same program. To celebrate, I had a week off of school, but as soon as that week was over, I went straight back to school to earn my Bachelors. On February 5, 2009, I finally received my Bachelor Degree in Film & Video.

Now fresh out of school, I have begun the difficult task of getting my foot through the door in the film industry. I’ve built a solid network among my own classmates and professors, but I must expand if I wish to continue to pursue my dream. On February 14, 2009, I announced that I will be moving to Los Angeles. It is here where I wish to continue my next chapter of my life. Only time will tell what will be in store for me for the future. Of course, I’ll always be here to let everyone know what’s up.
